Ton & Funny Girls
1981 Ton Ojisan starts panel theater performance. 1995 Ton Ojisan and his friends performed a panel theater show in a relief campaign for the children who suffered from the Great Hanshin Earthquakes. Afterwards, they established the Panel Theater Group Ton & Funny Girls. So far the group has given more than 220 panel theater shows at day care centers, kindergartens, homes of the elderly, and other places. 1998 Organizes “Everyone’s Panel Theater,” a seminar for the instructors at elementary schools, kindergartens, and day care centers in Akashi City. This event was supported by Akashi City Board of Education. 1999 Tour of Hawaii. The group gave a total of five shows in homes of the elderly and children’s hospitals in the city of Honolulu. Their performance was reported in the Hawaii Hochi Shinbun, a local Japanese newspaper. They also appeared for 30 minutes in a live talk show of a local radio station “K-JPN.” 2000 Performs two shows in Japan Flora 2000, an international flower festival held in Awajishima Island, Hyogo prefecture. 2001 Tour of Singapore. Five shows were performed at Japanese Society Auditorium, Japanese kindergarten, Lion’s Home, and other places. 2004 Tour of Sydney. Five shows were performed at Sydney Japanese School, Campbelltown Public School and other places. |
